Anybody ever heard of blu ray?

http://www.blu-ray.com/recorders/

Since I don't own any dvd's would I be naive in holding off till blu-ray hits the shelves? I do have a handful of VHS tapes still snapping them up at fire sale prices and I'm determined to burn them to blu ray discs in a few years. Gotta be smart and patient??
Ok we'll see how that works out.

On whether HD-DVD, or Blueray tech will become the next standard. Even when and if that happens, the cost of player with this tech will be astronomically high for several years. Then there's going to be a long time till any good selection of software is available.

If your used to VHS your in for a shock when you play a DVD in a progressive player hooked up to a good TV with component inputs. The increase in quality is stunning. The tech is cheap now too. I've seen progressive player for $49. My advice is to RUN...not walk, down to the local discount electronics store and get an inexpensive DVD player with progressive scan. You will not go wrong

I'm so cheap I can see how I'll regret not taking your advice.
