This is the latest non-Wire project Colin Newman is involved with. So far they have a 6-track mini-LP (HeadGit) and a full length scheduled for sometime "early" this year. Described on their own website as:

Githead are very new, yet in their short existence have managed to craft a style which is both original yet accessible, combining rhythmic toughness with interweaving guitars, insistently funky basslines with deadpan vocals.

Sounds interesting, but ya never know. Anyone heard them? Mark?

Yeah, it's a quote from "Unbearable."

That live album looks really good. It must have been recorded in the late 80s (about the time HUP came out) based on the track listing. If you get your hands on it, let me know how it is.

I have 8 Legged Groove Machine, Hup and Never Loved Elvis. NLE is not all that, but is there a WS that's a must have that I don't?

Edit: Yet another live one: http://www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg&token=&sql=10:2xnyxd0b3ol7

I don't know. I only have the first two, and heard Never Loved Elvis when it came out and decided not to pursue them any further. I think Never Loved Elvis is oft considered to be their best, but I like their early style much better. Something like this (http://www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg&token=ADFEAEE47916DC4AAB7F20F7A6106AEC9554D73BF16E DFA13E086561F1941864C32E59CC40F882CFF79824CE3EE3FC 31A6450DD3CAEB1AF5D66535378DEAB61145&sql=10:9u5g8qxpbtx4) is much more intriguing to me than hearing their later albums.

Don't know this "project", put I went to to check it out at pinkflag.com and liked the two songs I sampled. Something to keep an eye out for. I'll let you know if I place my order for the EP.

Yeah, I listened to one yesterday too, but I'm at work, so I had to keep the volume really low, which doesn't lend itself to being able to really hear it well. If I see it at the store, I may pick it up.

By the way, I found out about it because I'm on the PostEverything mailing list. Are you on the list? The latest Wire DVD+CD (The Scottish Play: 2004) is available through that site now.
