Question Info on Garrard 86 Turntable

    Hi,

I have a chance to pick up a fully functional, well-maintained Garrard 86 for 20 dollars. Is it worth it?

    Thanks,

    Robert

    Yes!

Stick in an Audio Technica AT95E cartridge or similar, treat it to a new belt just in case and it should sound quite pleasant.

Garrard made some great stuff in the day, and a lot of it is still going strong. Good luck with your new TT!

Twenty bucks for a belt drive Garrard? Duh!

Nice find. Has a kinda high mass arm, so treat it to a cartridge like Garrardman said.
