    Which way should I go

    I need a new turntable. I have narrowed my options down to this;

    aTechnics SL series turntable off of ebay or a brand new NAD 550?

    If it's sound you're after, then the NAD would be the better choice. If you're a DJ, and wish to beat the s**t out of your turntable and cartridge, then the Technics is definitely the way to go. Also, a used Technics on Ebay is most likely one owned by a DJ, and I'd steer far away from them if I were you, regardless of your intended purpose for the turntable.
