I just got the new counterweight today. I've played only one LP with it...Modern Jazz Quartet's Blues at Carnegie Hall. I think it does track better. The difference isn't huge, but this thing is a definite winner.

I can't see from the pictures, did it come with a cartridge or did you mount one of your Denon's? Looks nice though.

Not mine, but back about 18 years ago I machined the majority of the parts for Versa Dynamics TTs while they were being prototyped and small production runs in a 8 man shop I worked in.

Thanks guys! That Denon I had before and mounted it myself, it's not really a suitable match, but its close.
Man, this table rocks: it holds speed like a champ (could look at that stroboscope all nigh), it has great torque, sounds smooth and warm with great extension. The arm is the real treat; I bought it just for that.
The MA-505 is masterful. The arm tracks like a champ, built like a luxury car, self adjusting anti-skate, a secondary lateral counterweight for more control and you can do VTF & VTA on the fly!

And to think I just bought two days before a OEM Rega RB-3OO with a whole bunch of extras for a lesser model Micro that I have had. Looks like I'll be selling the Rega.
