John did you really have the 2055, or is it a random pic you chose?

Yes the Kenwood 2055 was my first. Sadly at the time I never thought to use the appropriate cartridge. High compliance cartridges were all the rage but I should have used a moving coil cartridge.

Very nice, Master Chubby! How's the dustcover?

I am looking forward to a proper headshell with a bit of mass. I am mounting the Blue Point to the headshell it came with, an alloy SME universal type.

It's what you would expect for the age, yet well taken care of. No glaring scratches or gouges. I only use a dustcover if I am not planning to use the TT for a bit.

Good find on a good price. This turntable will perfectly fit with my Kenwood system.

Hey, what's that base material on the 2055?

It's a fake marble material, however still quite sunstantial.

The fake marble is a resin. It must have been chosen for its resonance...or lack thereof.

Thats not a KD 2055. I have one to my left and it has one rectangular button by the headshellright along side the lever. I wonder what yours is!
