    Supposed to be superior

Normal LP's are around 120g (weight) so 180g and 200g are thicker and heavier. They are supposed to be better than original 120g although I'm not sure that they always are. Virgin vinyl refers to new as opposed to recycled vinyl. How many of the originals were using recycled material as opposed to virgin, I have no idea. As long as the original recording was well made, they are usually much cheaper if you can find them and I'll take them over the expensive "audiophile grade" 180g or 200g in most cases. The 180's and 200's do seem to make a good effort to produce excellent recordings, just have to decide if they are worth the extra cash to you. Try ONE and see what you think of them.
