    Transporting a TT

I'm moving on the 1st - 500KM trip. I have a Marantz 6100 in great condition, and it will be sitting in the back of a cube van. What can I do to protect it during the move? Any tips of advice would be greatly appreciated.

Couple of things you should do in order to protect the TT.
Remove the outer platter and the belt. Pack these seperatly. Then secure the inner platter with some bend over card, so it cant move about. You don't want any damage to the bearing.
Secure the arm on it's rest as good as you can. Also I would always remove the cartridge and/or the head shell.
That way it will all arrive at your destination ready for re-assembly.
Hope this helps and have a safe trip.

    Peace
