Time to take the tube plunge

$168 shipped for this Hlly tube amp and with many positive feedback comments. This amp at 7 watts will drive speakers 89db and up without a sweat. Pair it with some Tektons or other full rangers and get blown away.

I am looking forward to your review. I have been looking at their gear as well as Trends Audio gear. I am pleased with the chinese made Maverick Tube DAC/Pre for the most part. The sound is great. But I have had my eye on the Hlly Preamp with the remote. I am also looking at the Music Curve D-2020 integrated tube amp that they have on the Hlly Audio site-

    Thanks for the goad, Poultry,

If I experiment further with tubes in the near future it is more likely to be with the Little Dot Mk III headphone amp/preamp, (see HERE), that made it to Stereophile's most recent recommended components list.

I would like to try it as a preamp in particular. The tube pre I already own is quite s/s-like in terms of tone, so the Mk III should be an instructive comparison.

Now Bill, why did you have to post that Little Dot, now I am thinking about buying it! I have been following little dot for a while. I bet it would pair well with a Class D Audio amp or even the little Dayton DTA-100a amp that I bought. Shipping is a little high though!

Stereophile rated that MKiii a class B component. The Music Hall ph25.2 tuber preamp was also rated a Class B.

I took the tube plunge several years ago but am trying to get some of the SS crowd to give it a go.
