American beers however, I haven't a clue about You'll have to initiate me!

Without offending anyone (I hope) my suggestion is, major brand name American beers are not worth investigating. There are many American craft beers from smaller breweries that rival the best German and Belgian brews. I can't comment on light beers of any type. I think all of them taste truly awful. When I just want to drink beer I get Pilsner Urquell. I don't like or drink malt liquor either.

Funny you mention Pilsner, I was in Prague (Czech Republic) last September. Everyone one was telling me they had some good beers there, but Pilsner didn't do anything for me.

I think Coors Light etc are okay as a refreshing drinks, no more. Just like EStat, I enjoy a light lager as a refreshment. Hard liquor I don't have a taste for, save a few I really enjoy when I have them (Bailey's, Disaronno).

I think we're drifting pretty severly from the original heated debate to be. It's funny how some of these threads change to beer talk

So Curl doesn't remember a Onkyo mod he might have done about 4 years ago after being given some very basic & limited info which did not include the name of the person who had to mod done?

    That's your evidence?

Honestly, I wanted to get a flavor from Curl as to what he did to the Onkyo amps. If he could truly transform a $300 amp like the M-282 into a world class unit, then I was most certainly interested. Frankly, I was surprised that he neither remembered the project nor our famous recording engineer.

Who said anything about a $300 M-282? Who mentioned anything about a comparison between my mod amps and a JC-1. I count you guilty on two counts.

I made no mention of a mod to a M-282, or mentioned any comparison with another amp. This was you flying off the handle in an effort to play gotcha, and it failed miserably. You don't even have your basic facts straight!

I don't believe you mentioned my name at all. So not much to remember is there? You did not mention much of anything, so there is NOTHING to remember.

The only "honest" thing you tried to do is embarrass somebody else, and it blew up in your face. Too bad

Perhaps he just has poor memory. Neither you nor the project had any memorable effect on him. Not even a "I seem to recall...". Nothing. Zilch. As for me, I remember customers and programming projects I worked on twenty years ago.

Ok. For some reason, I thought you were under the impression your modified amps were comparable to current production hi end amplifiers.

I'll repeat. Apparently neither you nor the notion of Onkyo amps were memorable to him. Apparently I drew the wrong conclusion of how closely you know him since you said earlier "that is why I asked him to do the modification."

Since he doesn't know who I am, and you did nothing to change that, then there is nothing to remember. So you made no mention of what the project was affiliated with, then there is nothing to remember, it is just another project to him.

Keep in mind, YOU are not HIM. No offense, but that is a fact.

Ok. For some reason, I thought you were under the impression your modified amps were comparable to current production hi end amplifiers.
Since I made no statement of such, how in the hell can you come to that conclusion?

    You said this

There's a recording guy over at another site who says you worked some magic on his.

He has probably met hundreds of recording guys over his career, so you said exactly nothing that would identify me as the person! Recording guy is not my name last time I checked.

I am going to open a door for you. He is contracted to Parasound, so wouldn't it be a bad move on his part to publicly discuss a mod on a competitors product in a public forum?

If I were him, I wouldn't do it. It might not be a memory issue at all in this case.

This is a pure case of gotcha gone all wrong. When a person's motivation is not good or well intentioned, it usually shows.

Maybe it wasn't discontinued when he did it, did that ever occur to you? You really need to stop...you are barking up the wrong tree, in the wrong state, in the wrong country, and obviously on another planet. You do not seem to have a grasp on anything here.

You are even a bigger trip E-stat, I am not contracted out to a company to produce amps am I? That means I can talk about it, but perhaps he can't and won't. Since I have not been specific with anything, it does give him some cover, and that was intentional.

I am sure neither of us expected a nosy individual with obvious intentions was going to engage in this subject across two forums.

As for me, I am through with this stupidity. As Wooch stated, this is a wasted thread.
