    Parasound HCS-2200 mk I

HCA, not HCS, I have a chance to buy one of these real cheap, looks brand new, everything I've read says the mk II version is the one to get. Should I pass on it or go for it? Anyone here have any experience with the mk I? I don't really need another amp, just wondering if it might be special enough for $300.
    Thanks, Kent

Hi Kent, welcome to AR. What amp are you currently using or planning on replacing with the Parasound? What other gear do you have?

Kent, this thread my help. John Curl who designed both responded to your exact question from some one else.

If you are looking for a nice used amp take a look at this Odyssey-

    Here is a nice review-

Hi Larry, thanks for the response, I had already read the John Curl thread, good stuff. Wish I could read the original Stereophile review. The Odyssey amp looks nice, but it's a mono, and underpowered IMO.

Sorry, I did not see that it was a monoblock.

Hi Kent, if you don't need it then really no reason to buy it, it's not like a collectors item or sought after model. I have a 750, it the 2250 has same features it can be bridged to mono, then buy another for a set. The pass through feature is nice to for bi-amping or daisy chaining the signal into another room or something etc. The sound of the 750 is clean but I thought could use more bass power. At their prices though good performers. Oh, another cool freature is the gain controls, like volume control, also nice for bi-amping, level matching. Actually all those cool features is the reason I hang onto the 750, that and I don't have much invested in it.

    Parasound HCS-2200 mk I

    Hi Mr Peabody,
I don't have a use for it at the moment, but I think I'd like to try it on my main system, and later on I'm planning on building an eighteen inch sub with a miniDSP, 1000watts bridged into 4ohms, with a dampening factor of 1000, and super clean power as well. I kinda appeals to me.
