Question Rotel RA 1062 - can it drive focus 110's? Please Help!!!

    Hello Everyone -

I have a rotel 1062 int. amp in a small office: 12' X 12' and am looking for and listening to small monitors to fill the room with jazz/classical etc...at low to moderate listening levels.

I absolutely love the Dynaudio Focus 110's, however im concerned about my amp not being able to push these speakers. I'm not concerned with volume - i won't be turning it up much - just conerned about whether or not the rotel 1062 can bring out the detail and fullness of the speakers at low to moderate volume. Has anyone listened to this pairing?

Any thoughts would be very much appreciated!

The rotel is 60wpc and high current. The focus speakers are rated for 30wpc minimum. At low to moderate volumes you should be ok, but more power would help at higher volumes. Those speakers are fairly inefficient with a sensitivity of 85dB.

If you have further concerns talk to a Dynaudio dealer or Email your concerns to Dynaudio.

I'll echo blackie's sentiments about power requirements...at low volumes you should be fine.

I've heard Rotel with Danes before and, to these ears, it sounded better than the usual Rotel and B&W combination. I suspect it's a pairing one could be quite happy with for an office system.

I said : "That's nothing - you should hear me play piano"

I've heard that exact combo in a room about 16x18 and there was volume to spare... As long as you like the sound of that combo, then you you'll be fine
