Question Input to Int Amp, what's OK?

I'm hooking up a laptop to my integrated. I could use the head phone jack out of the laptop, but instead I'm using an iMic (Griffin) which is a USB connection. The signal out for both is variable depending on how I adjust the volume on my laptop.

Is this an OK arrangement? Do I need to worry about the power of the signal sent to the line in on the Int Amp? I'd have the same problem if I used, say, a walkman or diskman or iPod as a source so this can't be uncommon.

    Thanks for the advice!
