    newbie help, please
    Hi,

A friend of mine gave me an old Altec Lansing 1270C 2-channel amp he had stored in his basement. I couldn't find much info on this amp on the web, but I do have the spec sheet for it. The closest info on the web that I found is for the 1270, which is not quite the same as the 1270C: http://www.lansingheritage.org/html/...onics/1270.htm

Anyway, I'm thinking of making a powerful 2-channel system with it, but I know nothing about separates. Can I just buy any old pre-amp from eBay and hook it up? Does anyone know about Altec Lansing amps? Would you know if this is a comsumer amp or more of a commercial/pro model?

    Any help is greatly appreciated!

And a source and your ready to go. I would have the amp checked out before you use it though. You got it for free, and the $75 or so to have it checked is a good investment.
