    New Receiver!!! Yay!!!

    yay!! its finally happend!

    but...it wasn't the DRA-295 i asked for

it was a DRA-825RA!!! *drools* 95w per channel of class A amplification... and 110w into 6ohms...

since this receiver was "pre-loved" its all broken in and ready to rock, i've been trying it out for a while and it mates beautifully with my paradigms. And come spring when i get my MiniMonitors, it should show what it can really do!

    Specs:
    Amplifier Section
DRA-825RA: 95 watts per channel minimum RMS, both channels driven into 8ohms from 20Hz ~ 20kHz, no more than 0.015% THD

THD: 0.006% (-3db volume level, into 8 ohms)

then the rest is you know, technical jargon...

hope you all had a merry X-mas!

I hope you left some nice cookies for Santa.

    or perhaps a nice brandy...

It's nice to still see someone getting rightously enthused about two channel gear.

Enjoy, and keep the flame burning!

yeah! i love my STEREO system. I think the home theater is the only place for surround sound, music just sounds best in stereo...

now, the amp in this thing is just amazing, i can turn it to about 9 0'clock on the dial (8 on the numbers) ( out of 40) and it really brings the tiny atoms out to shine! bass is amazing, no rumbly sound, just pure clean sound, beautiful to hear, i love this thing, and its got more than enough power to stay in there for more than a few years!

pics are coming soon, probably in about a week when i get my camera back...

But, I wokeup with this freaking thing next to my pillow.

except mine was alot cheaper... I swear to you, I almost ran away. Good Times

poor boy, since nobody know what to buy for me (only dad knows a little bit about audio gear) and if they knew something, they wouldn't buy it because it is too expensive, so therefore, they just give me money.

    ...

which i then spend on audio gear myself, not everything, but reasonably much...

tomorrow I'm going to the interim office btw, going to hear for work during the summer vacation,

and then spend the money on a new amp

    keep them spinning,
    Bert.

    Hey Dude,

Which phono stage do you like better? Your old Sansui or the one in your new toy? Will it accept L output MC?

    Bert,

That'll be one sweet summer, I bet you cant wait. What happend to buying a new pair of MA Silver RS? Hope you'll find a good news.

those plans are still there, but before i buy new speakers, I will need a new amp.
the rotel RB-1070 looks attractive right now...
but other options can be looked at too,

there are also more speakers in the options list, the focal chorus 836/826 is a new option, the magnepan mg12, maybe a second hand 1.6 (those magnepans are hard to find here), B&W dm 604 s3's,the monitors are still high on the list, but there are just more options now.

    Greetz,
    Bert.
