    Amp Fuse Question

I called the manufacturer of my pro amp to find out what type fuse I need. He told me that I needed a 5amp 250 volt fuse. My question is why 250 volt when my house uses 120 volts. Is this fuse safe to use in my 120 volt house?

250 volts is just how they rate the fuse. it will be fine to use with 120, don't worry about it. it just allows for that fuse to be used in many applications. the fuse blows from amperage not voltage. As long as the voltage rating of the fuse is equal to or higher than the source voltage there is no problem
