I was trying to set up a computer audio system using regular stereo somponents. It would also involve a separate CDP, since my CD-ROM drive is teats up. With my Yamaha M-35 laid up, I tried my MCS 3830, a low-powered unit which really shines with headphones. The speaks were NHT Super Zeroes. The cables were humungous Tara "garden hoses". The sound was just BAD, and the power-indicator lights were flashing all the way over. The next day, I redid things with heavy-gauge zip cord, and the sound was fine. The first power-indicator light flashes once in a while.

Did the Tara cabes have too much capacitance, or did the amp just get its second wind??
