Hey Poutrygeist what 2A3 Amp did you get?

I read your post on "What Compromises would you....".

Which 2A3 amps did you get?
Curious mind wants to know.

I bought the Dared MP-2a3c and I expect it to be a great match for all my full range speakers. I was concerned that its 6-8 watts might not be enough for the Zu's but that was unfounded as I can't get to 12 o'clock on the volume control before waking the dead.

As good as it sounds now the Dared should improve once I replace those cheap ass Chinese 6N3's with a quad of Tungsol's. The US version formerly came with four 12AX7 but Dared is now shipping the units with 6N3's. Not as many rolling options with the 6N3 but there are a few great choices out there with the WE 396A being tops.

The amp came with white cotton gloves to install the big coke bottle 2a3 Shungangs and it even has a cat eye tube which dances with the music but closes once it approaches clipping.

Once I roll the tubes and get some hours on the amp I'll try and give some impressions.

Replaced the Chinese 6N3's today with Tungsol 2C51's and was blown away. The 2a3c and Zu's are a match made in heaven.
