Connecting to sub

I need help on this. I have a Pioneer VSX-405 and I have a JBL SUB135. I want to know if I should hook the sub preout on my receiver to were it says LFE on my sub? Or should I get a y adapter and hook it to were it says L and R on my sub? :confused:

Either way will work.
