    can i use preouts and hook up speakers as well?
    If i have some biwirable binding post speakers, is it possible to run speaker wire from my receiver to one set of posts, then run from my preouts to an amp, then to the other set of posts? any problems that i might encounter?

    It should work like bi-amping does.
    How will it sound?
    I do not know.
    I would think there may be a delay between the main unit and the Amp.
    And the built in amplifier in the main unit may produce a different sound than the separate amplifier does and may not have equal power either.
    Maybe you could use the Main amp for the highs and the seperate for the lows.
    I do not see that it could cause damage though.

    Not necessarily....
    The receiver will be able to control the volume of the preouts. Once you have the separate amp set to the correct volume level you should never have to touch it again. If you increase the sound on the receiver the amp will automatically get a higher signal sent to it from the receiver. So I don't really see a problem with doing it.
