    Bi-amping and sub-woofers
    Hey All,

Before I go to a decent audio shop and embarrass myself, I want to some facts and opinions.

After watching my dog, son and wife either knock over, or almost knock over a pair of Dahlquist floor standers, I'm thinking of switching to a pair of Boston bookshelf reference speakers and a sub-woofer.

Here is the question-Can you run a sub off of a bi-amp (Cambridge A-500/P-500) set-up?

    Thanks!

Yep. Just split the preamp out one more time. You will in effect now be tri-amping since the sub contains it's own power amp.

    MarkW-

Thanks! By splitting the pre-amp (tri-amping) does this mean I can continue bi-amping the main speakers?

Yep. A pair of simple "Y" connnectors (and a pair of interconnects to the sub) should set you up quite well, and rather inexpensively I might add.
