You should jump on it if you need it. I don't recall the specs on the A3. My friend has a 9. I personally in home auditioned a 1 and a 10, for different purposes, I've also heard many other Arcam amps. They are very good amps. I would say they are more to the aggressive side. Their sound is fast, detailed and dynamic. Although some may find themselves wishing for more power. They have great driving ability for low impedance and they are very clean, I just found myself running out of rope before I'd like. But I like to feel my music. You just may have found yourself quite a bargain. Check what the shop is asking against bluebook. Typically, Arcam holds it's resale value pretty well in comparison to brands like Adcom or Parasound.

Depends how much it is. The Delta 290 IMO is likely the best amp Arcam has ever made - It sells used for ~$350.00US. There is a cherry product from most companies. Sugden has the A21a.
This doesn't mean the other amps are no good - but if you were going to pay $350 you want to know which one to get. If the A3 was $80.00-$120.00 or so then it's probably a good buy - though I can;t be sure cause I have not heard it.
