Any safe way to send Tuner from Rotel 1052 out to another preamp?

Recently got this RX1052 and planned to use the Tuner section for main system.

I have done this with other Pre-Tuners by taking the Tape Outs to either Tape or AUX Inputs on second pre.

This does not seem to be working the way I thought it would and the owners manual is lacking anything useful about using the Tape section. In most units, whatever the input source is, the Tape section can pick that up in order to record to tape from the source.

Here is a link to manual.

Is it safe to use the Zone 2 Pre Outs to feed an input on another Pre or does that output HAVE to go to an Amp only?

I also emailed Rotel but was hoping for some help here if possible.

    TIA

    Got my answer from Rotel!

Great quick response. Apparently I had it all setup properly but there is another button on the unit that has to be pushed (REC) to tell the Tape section what Input to listen to. It's not automatic as it is in most other units.

Yeah, I thought I would never hear back from my request but it only took 35 minutes for the response.

I have to stop at the Rat Shack on the way home to get a few connectors for the speaker wires to replace the solid pins I was using from the Niles box. The posts on the Rotel do not have a hole through the shaft so I need to get a few spades or bananas to complete my setup.
