    Amp for Dynaudio Focus140

    Hi All,

    I just purchased the Dyn Focus 140 . I need recommendations for a amp that would be suitable for it. I know it will need soem juice for it as dyns are power hungry.

    I mostly hear jazz Voclas and old school rock and 80's pop.
    I guess I would need a budgetof atleast 2-3K to feed it a decent amount of power.

    looking forward from recommendations from you guys.

    Cheers

    You could go with a lot less than 2-3k, but we all now that more is better well, most of the time..
    I'm sure you'll get lots of great recommendations. As for me, I really fancy the Krell 400xi these days.. I believe it retails around 2.5k. If you're willing to buy second hand (Audiogon for example), you'll probably find pretty darn good stuff in that price range.
    Dynaudio's tend to be power hungry as you said, so you should be looking at 100+ watts.
    Another recommendation would be a Cambridge Audio 840A mark 2. It's cheaper (1.5k), and I hear very good.

    Not sure if you need to spend $2-$3k, but if you can afford to, then why not?

    In that range, the powerhouse Integrated amp or Amp/Preamp combos that I can think of are:

    Integrated Amps:

    Musical Fidelity A5.5 -> 250 watts -> $2750
    Krell Kav 400xi -> 200 watts -> $2500
    NAD Masters M3 -> 180 watts -> $2800

    Amp/Preamp:

    Rotel RC1070 + RB1092 -> 500 watts -> $3000
    Parasound Halo P3 + A21 -> 250 watts -> $2800
    Anthem TLP1 + MCA20 -> 200 watts -> $2000
