I have large full range fronts and large full range rears properly wired for 7.1 surround

I would like to run the fronts and the rears at the same time in stereo mode so I would basically have 4 speaker stereo output rather than using the surround mode setting when listening to music

It would be a major pain to unhook the wires from the rear of the receiver to connect them to speaker b output. My question is if I put a jumper wire from the b outputs to the surround rear outputs will that work or will it somehow back feed into the receiver when in stereo a plus b mode or when in surround 7.1 mode watching a movie?

NAD t773, 6 ohm front and rear speakers, 4 ohm sides
